Efectos de la Nomofobia en el Bienestar Psicológico de Adultos Puertorriqueños: Un Estudio Descriptivo Correlacional

Resumen

Este estudio cuantitativo, de alcance descriptivo y correlacional, examinó la relación entre la nomofobia y el bienestar psicológico en una muestra de adultos puertorriqueños. La nomofobia se caracteriza por tener un miedo intenso e irracional a quedarse sin el teléfono móvil; generando malestar incluyendo ansiedad y angustia. Dado su posible impacto en la salud mental, se examinó su asociación con la ansiedad y la depresión en la muestra. La muestra incluyó 154 adultos puertorriqueños, de los cuales 117 eran mujeres y 37 hombres. Los análisis de correlación de Pearson indicaron una relación negativa entre la nomofobia y el bienestar psicológico, sugiriendo que menores niveles de nomofobia se asocian con mayor bienestar. Además, el bienestar psicológico presentó correlaciones negativas con ansiedad y depresión, mientras que la nomofobia mostró correlaciones positivas con ansiedad y depresión. Estos hallazgos sugieren que la nomofobia podría aumentar el riesgo de síntomas emocionales adversos, destacando su relevancia en la salud mental. El presente artículo aborda las implicaciones, limitaciones y perspectivas para futuras investigaciones.
