Fenómeno del Impostor, Apoyo Social y Mentalidad de Crecimiento en Estudiantes Graduados

Resumen

En academia, se ha utilizado el término fenómeno del impostor para hablar de individuos exitosos que experimentan un sentido interno de desconfianza intelectual y negación de la competencia (Filarowska & Schier, 2018). Estudios han encontrado una prevalencia de sentimientos de impostor en el 82% de la población general de Estados Unidos (Bravata et al., 2020). Se buscó ampliar la investigación considerando aspectos no solo internos del individuo sino externos, que puedan potenciar o disminuir los sentimientos de impostor en los individuos. La investigación tuvo como objetivo explorar y describir la relación entre el fenómeno del impostor, la mentalidad de crecimiento y el apoyo social en estudiantes graduados. Se examinó si la mentalidad de crecimiento moderaba la relación entre el apoyo social y el fenómeno del impostor. La muestra de 99 participantes mostró que la interacción de variables no fue significativa (b = .07, p = .45) lo que demuestra que la mentalidad de crecimiento no modera significativamente la relación entre el apoyo social y el fenómeno del impostor en la muestra bajo estudio. Por otro lado, de los datos obtenidos de las regresiones realizadas, se puede deducir que el fenómeno del impostor es independiente de todas las demás variables de estudio.
