Equivalencia entre Medidas de Planificación Cognitiva y su Relación con Medidas de Velocidad de Procesamiento

Resumen

El propósito de este estudio fue examinar las diferencias entre las operacionalizaciones de la planificación cognitiva del Cognitive Assessment System 2: Español (CAS2:ES) y la Woodcock-Muñoz III: Pruebas de Habilidades Cognitivas (WM III COG), y su relación con la velocidad de procesamiento. Para esto se realizaron análisis secundarios de datos con una muestra de 32 estudiantes de primer grado de dos escuelas del área metropolitana de Puerto Rico. Los resultados muestran una diferencia estadísticamente significativa, t(31) = -7.50, p < .001, entre la escala de Planificación del CAS2: ES y la prueba de Planeamiento de la WM III COG de 20.97 puntos, IC 95% [-26.67, -15.26]. También se encontró que la escala de Planificación presenta una relación moderadamente fuerte con el índice de Velocidad/Fluidez, r = .44, IC 95% [0.04, 0.73]. La prueba de Planeamiento no se encuentra relacionada con Velocidad/Fluidez, ni con la de Fluidez Cognitiva. Estos hallazgos sugieren que las pruebas de planificación no son equivalentes y no deben utilizarse de forma intercambiable en procesos de evaluación formales. Asimismo, se recomienda considerar la velocidad de procesamiento al evaluar la planificación cognitiva con el CAS2: ES.
